Kenyan mother reunited with daughter after two years apart

Peninah Wanjiru Kinyanjui has re-united with her daughter after more than two years of separation after she was deported from Saudi Arabia. Baby Precious was left in Saudi Arabia after her mother was deported for falling out of immigration status. The child had no birth certificate or other documentation, prompting the Kenyan government to intervene. DNA tests were conducted to confirm her identity and relationship with her mother, before authorities worked with the Kenyan government to secure her travel documents and repatriate her. The State Department for Diaspora Affairs has urged Kenyans abroad to observe local laws and ensure their children are properly documented.
