Mbadi calls for demand-driven government borrowing

Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi is calling for demand-driven borrowing amid global resource constraints. According to the Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Kenya has been taking on debt without assessing whether the country actually needs the money. He says this has resulted in unnecessary commitment fees for the country, funds that could have been put to better use. As Jimmy Mbogoh reports, the CS has also called on development partners to reinforce systems that work rather than develop new ones.
