McCarthy names three Rising Stars in Harambee Stars squad

Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has included three Under-20 stars in his provisional squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers later this month. Aldrine Kibet of Celta Vigo in Spain, Amos Wanjala of Valencia in Spain and Kevin Wangaya of Nairobi United have been elevated to the senior squad for the two matches against Eritrea and Guinea. McCarthy has called up 38 players, with defenders Joseph Okumu and Manzur Okwaro, both of Stade de Reims in France, making a comeback after recovering from injuries. Gor Mahia’s Sharrif Musa and Paul Ochuoga have also earned call-ups, alongside newcomers Louis Millard of Swindon FC in England and Javan Ochieng of Hickory FC in North Carolina, USA. Harambee Stars will face Eritrea on September 26 at the Nyayo National Stadium before travelling to Conakry to take on Guinea on October 1.
