    Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi now says President William Ruto's order on foreign nationals operating informal small-scale businesses in Kenya was intended to protect vulnerable sectors of the economy, promote fair competition and safeguard the livelihoods of Kenyan citizens. According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the order was not a blanket ban on foreign nationals engaging in small-scale businesses, but was meant to enforce an orderly and regulated environment.
