Murkomen says gov’t will intensify fight against illicit brews

    Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen says the government will intensify its crackdown on illegal alcohol and drug trafficking, particularly at Kenya–Uganda border points in Trans Nzoia and Busia counties. He noted that drug abuse continues to affect a growing number of young people. Murkomen urged the public to reject societal vices and embrace nation-building, adding that the government is fast-tracking job creation through youth empowerment programs to boost national development. He spoke while attending the Masengeli Cup 2025 finals in Saboti, Trans Nzoia County.
