    Mwea rice farmers demand KSh 210 million owed by government Mwea rice farmers are calling on the government to facilitate the Kenya National Trading Corporation (KNTC) to release KSh 210 million owed to them after the government bought more than 25,000 bags of rice from the Mwea Rice Growers Multipurpose Cooperative Society (MRGM). The government was expected to pay the money by July 31, but farmers say the payment has not been made.
