The National Cohesion and Integration Commission, NCIC, has summoned nominated Member of Parliament Joseph Iraya Wainaina and Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku to appear before the commission over alleged utterances portraying negative ethnicity. The two are expected to appear before the commission on September 17. This comes as Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku appeared before the commission today, where he was grilled over remarks suggesting a split in the Mt Kenya region. Ruku is said to have suggested that some counties in Mt Kenya East had received more development than others. Busia Governor Paul Otuoma and Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma have also appeared before the commission over alleged inflammatory remarks.
