NCIC urges churches to act against inflammatory political messages

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has urged church leaders to take a firm stand against politicians, including switching off microphones when politicians use worship centres to deliver inflammatory messages. NCIC Chairman Bishop Dr Kepha Nyamweya Omae told religious leaders that they have the authority to prevent politicians from promoting narratives that could fuel hatred and division. A consultative forum with religious leaders resolved to conduct a nationwide anti-hate speech campaign aimed at promoting peace. Citizen TV's Ben Kirui has more.
