The Kenya National Union of Nurses has accused the Council of Governors of double speak, saying county governments have shown no goodwill in resolving the standoff that has paralysed health services. The nurses say they remain willing to engage in dialogue, but insist the counties must demonstrate a commitment to resolving their grievances. Speaking during their weekly demonstrations from the Green Park Terminus to the Council of Governors offices in Westlands, the nurses accused county governments of failing to honour the return-to-work formula and refusing to adopt the agreed career progression guidelines. The nationwide strike has now entered its 29th day, with the health workers insisting they will not resume duty until the Council of Governors fulfils their demands.
