Nurses’ strike leaves patients struggling for care

Now to the health crisis, across public hospitals, patients are being turned away or forced to seek costly care in private facilities. But for those dependent on specialized services such as dialysis, chemotherapy and newborn care, there may be nowhere else to turn. As the government and nurses remain deadlocked over the implementation of their collective bargaining agreement, patients are left to navigate a health system without one of its most critical cadres.
