Nyamira ECD teachers protest over delayed pay rise

Hundreds of early childhood development teachers from Nyamira County held a peaceful protest earlier today, demanding that the county government implement pay rises. Speaking at the county headquarters, the teachers said they want the county to effect salary increases in line with guidelines issued by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC). Led by Kenya Union of Pre-Primary Education Teachers, KUNOPPET, Secretary General Linet Momanyi, the teachers vowed to continue with the demonstrations until their demands are met.
