Oparanya: It is hard campaigning for Ruto in ODM strongholds

Cooperatives and MSMEs cabinet secretary Wycliffe Oparanya now says the recent spate of expulsions of ODM members from the party is making it difficult for him and other leaders to campaign for President William Ruto’s re-election in ODM strongholds. Speaking during an engagement at a boys’ high school in Butula constituency on Saturday, Oparanya called for tolerance within the ODM party as the campaigns ahead of next year’s general election heat up. The sentiments come even as the ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna continues to fight for his survival in and out of court after the ODM party instituted disciplinary hearings against him. Bumula MP Jack Wamboka was also suspended from his position as the chairperson of the National Assembly’s Public Investments Committee (PIC) on governance and education following bribery allegations.
