Cameroon’s Constitutional Council on Monday, October 27, 2025, declared 92-year-old President Paul Biya the winner of the October 12 presidential election, extending his more than four-decade rule. Biya, the world’s oldest sitting head of state, garnered 53.66 per cent of the vote, while his main challenger and former ally Issa Tchiroma Bakary secured 35.19 per cent.
