Police constable held after woman shot dead in Eldoret

Police in Eldoret are investigating a case in which a police officer shot and killed a woman at the Naiberi General Service Unit mess compound. The suspect, Police Constable Nathan Kirwa, who is assigned to Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, fled the scene but was later apprehended and disarmed. Police say Kirwa shot 45-year-old Doris Murei multiple times, killing her following an altercation near the Eldoret State Lodge. The body of the deceased has since been transferred to Eldoret Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to assist with the ongoing investigations.
