Raila Odinga Stadium nears completion ahead of AFCON 2027

When Kenya won the bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations, President William Ruto announced that a brand-new stadium at the Talanta Sports City Complex would be ready for use by the end of 2025. Now known as the Raila Odinga International Stadium, the facility is nearing completion and could become one of President Ruto’s key sports legacy projects. But with AFCON 2027 fast approaching, the clock is ticking. As part of CAF requirements, the stadium’s pitch must be stitched to meet the required playing standards ahead of the tournament.
