After 29 years of severe water scarcity, relief has finally reached Gerilley, a border town in Wajir South, with the launch of a new borehole under the Deris Wanaag initiative a Somali phrase meaning “good neighbourliness.” The project, implemented by the Raia Development Initiative (RDI), marks a significant milestone in tackling the town’s decades-long water challenges and improving access to clean water for local communities.
