Religious organizations, including the National Council of Churches of Kenya, the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims, SUPKEM, alongside human rights groups, are raising concerns about the country’s preparedness for the August 10, 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders warn that political and state interference with key independent institutions tasked with overseeing the elections could undermine the delivery of free, fair and credible polls.
