Renowned cardiologist David Silverstein dies aged 82

Renowned American cardiologist Dr David Silverstein is dead. He was 82. Born in chicago, dr. Silverstein arrived in Kenya in 1974, and joined the University of Nairobi medical school. Three years later, he was appointed chief cardiothoracic physician for the government. He became President Daniel Arap Moi’s personal physician in 1983, until his passing in February 2020. Throughout his career, Dr. Silverstein’s influence transcended the field of medicine, exposing him to power and politics, as well as becoming the leader of the Jewish community in Kenya.
