Shahbal rejects Ruto’s call to quit 2027 race

EALA MP and investment banker Suleiman Shahbal has rejected President William Ruto’s appeal to set aside his political ambitions in 2027 and focus on business and investments. Shahbal insists he remains in the race for Mombasa governor, despite losing the 2013 and 2017 gubernatorial elections to Hassan Ali Joho. The investment banker says he is not ready to quit the race unless convinced otherwise by Mombasa voters.
