State House confidential spending hits Sh6.7 billion

State House increased expenditure on undisclosed items to Sh6.7 billion, prompting the Controller of Budget to classify the spending under the confidential vote, which President William Ruto abolished two years ago. A budget implementation report for the year ending June 2026 shows that State House more than doubled its initial budget, spending Sh18.5 billion — the highest expenditure in the institution’s history.
