Traders protest over gas refilling station in Castle area, Thika

Residents and business owners in Thika castle area have raised the alarm over operations of local a gas refilling plant saying it has become a safety concern among residents. The residents and business owners staged protests against the gas refilling plant saying it poses a threat to life and property in the area. Led by Otto Hofman, Children's Home Director Jane Wanjiru, they said fumes from the plant have seen children develop breathing complications. The residents are calling on relevant authorities to intervene and investigate the facility over safety concerns.
