Tribunal allows Linda factions to reserve party names

The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has allowed Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi to reserve the name “The Mwananchi Party” pending the hearing and determination of its appeal. The tribunal has also allowed the reservation and registration of the “Liberty National Democratic Alliance,” commonly known as Linda, pending the hearing and determination of the case. The matter will resume on September 14, 2026. Meanwhile, both factions earlier today maintained their rightful ownership and identity of the Linda brand during separate functions held in Nairobi County. Seth Olale reports.
