Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has handed over the leadership of the Jubilee Party to his deputy, Fred Matiang’i, ahead of the party’s National Delegates Convention, NDC.
Uhuru will remain within Jubilee as a senior member and adviser, as Matiang’i takes the reins ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Matiang’i is also expected to lead Jubilee’s engagements with like-minded political parties and spearhead the party’s preparations for the 2027 polls as its presidential flag bearer.
