Uhuru rejects claims of sponsoring opposition

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired back at his successor, President William Ruto, dismissing claims that he is sponsoring the opposition to destabilize the Kenya Kwanza government. Kenyatta spoke in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, during the memorial service of the late Michael Kijana Wamalwa, who served as Kenya’s eighth vice president. The former head of state denied any involvement in politics and criticised the disruption of opposition rallies by goons, saying the actions were clawing back on the country’s democratic gains.
