University funding crisis leaves students stranded

A growing crisis is unfolding in public universities as confusion continues to hit university funding. Hundreds of students are stranded at home, while those who joined as first years are struggling to cope without disbursements of either loans or scholarships. The confusion is attributed to a government decision to suspend the existing funding model as it awaits the passage of a new Tertiary Placement and Funding Bill, which is currently before Parliament.
