U.S. Cancels KSh7.76B Nairobi Transport Project, Delays GIS Platform

According to the National Treasury’s Energy, Infrastructure, and ICT Sector Working Group Report for FY 2026/27–2028/29, the Nairobi Metropolitan Area transport initiatives under the Kenya Millennium Development Fund (KMDF) have stalled due to changes in U.S. foreign aid policy. Of the total project cost, the U.S. was to contribute Ksh 5.8 billion, while Kenya was to provide Ksh 1.56 billion.
