Kenya has made progress in the fight against HIV, with the number of new infections declining significantly. However, young people remain the group of greatest concern.
First Lady Rachel Ruto says the voices of young people must be heard and the challenges they face addressed, including HIV, teenage pregnancies and gender-based violence.
Nominated Senator Catherine Muma is also calling for stricter measures against child defilement, saying there is a significant gap between the number of children who become pregnant as minors and the number of cases brought before the courts.
