The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) hosted a Science Literacy Open Day in Kilifi County, engaging over 100 secondary school students to promote interest in science, technology, engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects . Angela Mumo, head of KEMRI's school engagement programme, expressed optimism that the initiative would demystify sciences and inspiring students to tackle real-world challenges. Students interacted with researchers, explored science success stories and performed creative pieces inspired by African scientists.
