Biden amewasili Angola katika ziara yake ya kwanza aliyoahidi kuifanya barani Afrika, kusini mwa jangwa la Sahara kama rais.
Biden aliwasili Angola Jumatatu kuanza ziara yake iliyokuwa ikisubiriwa kwa muda mrefu huko Afrika, kusini mwa jangwa la Sahara na atatumia siku tatu za ziara yake kukabiliana na ushawishi wa China kwa kutangaza mradi wenye matarajio makubwa wa reli unaofadhiliwa na Marekani.
Ujenzi wa reli unaojulikana kama Lobito Corridor unaofufuliwa tena huko Zambia, Congo na Angola una azma ya kuendeleza uwepo wa Marekani katika eneo lenye utajiri wa madini muhimu yanayotumiwa kutengeneza betri za magari ya umeme, vifaa vya kieletroniki na teknolojia ya nishati safi.
Biden kwanza alisimama katika kisiwa cha Atlantiki huko Cape Verde kwa muda mfupi, alifanya mazungumzo ya faragha na Waziri Mkuu Ulisses Correia e Silva. Akiwa Angola, Biden amepanga kukutana na Rais wa Angola Joao Lourenco, kutembelea Makumbusho ya Taifa ya Utumwa na atakwenda katika mji wa bandari wa Lobito kuuangalia mradi huo wa reli. -AP
