At least 30 people have died and dozens more have been injured in a tragic oil tanker explosion in Nigeria’s central Niger state. The accident occurred along the Bida-Agaie road near Essan and Badeggi communities when a fuel-laden tanker skidded off the road and overturned. Witnesses say villagers rushed to collect the spilled fuel before the tanker exploded, setting off a massive blaze that burned many victims beyond recognition. Authorities have since reported varying death tolls, with figures ranging from 29 to 35 fatalities and more than 40 people injured.
