Government - UASU talks end in deadlock over pay dispute

The standoff between university lecturers and the government has deepened further after a meeting convened in Machakos flopped, with lecturers rejecting a review of the return to work formula. With the industrial action now in its 39th day, the lecturers demand that the 7.9 billion shillings owed to them be paid in full before any fresh negotiations are held.
