Tension remains high in Kitengela town, Kajiado County following a standoff between hawkers and the county government enforcement officers who forcefully barred them from selling their wares along the town streets. Trouble began on Sunday during Kitengela market day after county enforcement officers banned street business with hawkers retaliating by barricading the busy Nairobi-Namanga highway in protest.
