KRA roadshow encourages taxpayers to update their records

The Kenya Revenue Authority Tax Services Roadshow entered its 6th day on Tuesday, seeking to encourage taxpayers to update their records with the taxman. ;;;RUN VCR;;; The roadshow conducted alongside the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation made stops in Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties, where hundreds of taxpayers sought the help of KRA staff to file their returns without charges, as well as to benefit from the tax amnesty program. The campaign made stops in Chuka, Chogoria, Nkubu, Gitimbene, Kiirua and Meru towns. The Amnesty and the file and pay campaign, which runs until June 30, 2025, offers taxpayers a chance to clear outstanding penalties and interest on tax debts accrued up to December 31. KRA has already ruled out the possibility of extending the filing deadline or re-introducing the amnesty offer, calling on non-compliant taxpayers to leverage the ongoing campaign to update their records. The campaign will tour the Northern part of Meru County on Wednesday.
