Speaking during the launch event held in Nairobi, Dr. Jane Mwikali said the campaign is part of BCLB’s broader strategy to create awareness around the dangers of irresponsible betting and provide support for those struggling with betting addiction. BCLB had earlier suspended gambling advertisements in media outlets. This suspension is expected to lapse on May 29, after which new guidelines will be reviewed and announced. To support individuals battling gambling addiction, BCLB, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, is also set to open an 8-hour toll-free call center at its offices in a week.
