The National Assembly Committee on Education is now proposing a slashing of capitation funds across various cadres in the education sector, despite concerns over underfunding of the crucial docket. The committee, led by Tinderet’s Julius Melly, is proposing the slashing of capitation for secondary schools to the tune of kshs 3 billion. However, the committee has called for the allocation of funds to hire intern teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.
