The inaugural online recruitment of 10,000 police officers is now in limbo as the National Police Service and the national police service commission clashed on the readiness to employ the digital tool in the recruitment set for next month. Speaking when he appeared before the National Assembly security committee, the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, said the tool may be counterproductive if deployed at this time. The NPSC, however, maintains the system is ready to go and will help in curbing corruption. The NPS has, however, decried lack of adequate funding for the process after the treasury allocated sh2.9B against a request of sh6.9B for the process.
