Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has confirmed that Rose Njeri, a Kenyan tech activist who developed a website enabling public submissions opposing the Finance Bill 2025, is currently in police custody at Pangani Police Station.
Her arrest by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many decrying it as an attack on digital rights and free expression. The LSK has strongly condemned the police, accusing them of blocking efforts by lawyers to secure Njeri’s release on bail.
