More than 700 healthcare facilities have been shut down in five counties for failing to meet basic standards. 301 other facilities have been downgraded following a nationwide inspection by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council. The affected facilities were found to be either unregistered, unlicensed, or operating below required standards. As Emily Chebet reports, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale says the crackdown is ongoing, as the government moves to root out quack medics and rogue clinics preying on unsuspecting Kenyans.
