The government says it is open to dialogue with the media, in efforts to foster national cohesion and responsible journalism. ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo made the remarks during a media stakeholders’ forum held in Nakuru, where he emphasized the need for mutual engagement between the state and media houses. Kabogo noted that while the right to protest is enshrined in the Constitution, it must be exercised peacefully and responsibly. Meanwhile, Kenya Editors Guild President Zubeidah Kananu urged for a safe and supportive working environment for journalists, free from threats and intimidation.
