KENAF OFFICIAL URGES NKPCU TO HELP COFFEE COOPERATIVES SET UP NURSERIES
The Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF) official have urged the New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union (NKPCU) to help establish local nurseries for seedlings to boost the coffee prouction in Migori.
Speaking to the Kenya News Agency team, Lake Region KENAFF Chairperson Peter Chacha said the majority of farmers in Migori depend on coffee seedling supplies from the government that are inadequate to meet demand.
“Coffee seedlings from the government are not enough. If the county and national governments can help us to establish our cooperative nurseries, we can multiply production and maximise coffee yields,” Chacha said.
