Northern Kenya MPs warn of drought, urge disaster declaration

North-eastern members of parliament have sounded the alarm over an impending drought in the region. The lawmakers speaking in parliament want the government to declare a national disaster to enable access to immediate assistance and resources to support affected communities. The leaders are asking the government to implement the livestock offtake programme as the drought continues to take root.
