Police IG, DCI boss ordered to appear in court over Mwenda Mbijiwe's whereabout

The High Court has ordered the Inspector General of Police and Director of Criminal Investigations boss, Mohamed Amin, to appear physically in court on December 16th, 2025, to explain the whereabouts of security expert Mwenda Mbijiwe, who went missing in 2021. Family Lawyer Evans Ondieki informed Judge Martin Muya that the State has failed to offer any meaningful update on investigations into Mbijiwe's disappearance. However, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions informed the Court that the prosecution intends to forward the investigation file to a magistrate's Court to initiate an inquest.
