Stakeholders in Kenya’s mining sector are urging the government to tighten enforcement of mining laws to boost participation of local professionals. Speaking at the Mining Engineers Society of Kenya( MESK) annual end-of-year event, Chairman Joseph Komu raised concerns over persistent non-compliance by mining companies, saying the trend continues to deny Kenyan engineers key opportunities for skills development and knowledge transfer.
