Kalonzo Musyoka has sharply criticised President William Ruto’s economic policies, promising to redress them if elected president. Speaking during the official launch of the People’s Fiscal Sovereignty on December 8, 2025, Musyoka painted a grim picture of rampant corruption, human rights abuses, and the capture of independent institutions, including Parliament, by the executive. He also condemned the rushed sale of state properties like the Kenya Pipeline and JKIA, as well as the attempted Safaricom share sale, describing these moves as unconstitutional and benefiting only a few.
