The government has warned of firm action against traders in Garissa engaging in the illegal sale of petrol. The warning follows an impromptu multi-agency crackdown targeting illicit fuel operations in the county. Garissa County Commissioner Mohamed Mwabudzo, led a team of security agencies, the Kenya Revenue Authority, and the National Environment Management Authority to dismantle makeshift fueling points in Burburis area suspected of selling illegal petrol.
