Mandera County observed the Jamhuri day celebrations with calls for urgent intervention to prevent further losses following the worsening drought situation in the area. County Governor Mohamed Khalif said the situation has reached an alarming stage and that pastoralists have already lost camels, goats, sheep, and donkeys as water sources and pasture continue to diminish.
