Gender-based violence (GBV) survivors in Mandera County have received a major boost following the opening of a new Hope Shelter by the county government. The facility, also referred to as the Gender Recovery Centre, is designed to provide immediate safety, protection, and comprehensive support services to survivors escaping abusive environments. It will offer temporary accommodation, medical care, psychosocial counselling, legal counsel, and linkages to legal aid.
