The election of officials for the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in Homa Bay County has been dismissed after violence erupted at Tom Mboya University, forcing the exercise to be aborted. The melee began when a group of unknown people forcefully entered the polling area, confiscated ballot boxes before setting them ablaze. KUPPET Executive Secretary Homa Bay Chapter, Stephen Yogo, attributed the chaos to certain candidates within the union.
