A distraught mother from Ndhiwa village in Homabay County is demanding answers over alleged negligence at Kendege Prison after her 25-year-old son suffered severe burns, which were not reported to the family. Caroline Akoth says prison officials failed to notify her that her son, Lawrence Oguda, had been badly injured, despite having her contact information. Oguda, who is serving a six-year sentence, is now fighting for his life at the Migori County Referral Hospital after sustaining extensive burns inside the prison kitchen in Kehancha, Migori County. John Kahiro has that story.
