President William Ruto on Thursday took the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement to Machakos County, where he called on young people to bank on the Kenya Kwanza administration to lift them out of poverty. Ruto wooed the Ukambani region, cautioning them against backing the Opposition, a camp which he accused of lacking an agenda for the country. The President challenged the 5900 beneficiaries of the Nyota program in Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties to use the money to create opportunities, not just for themselves, but for the societies they live in.
